Dr. Lawrence L Ciesemier, DO FAAAAI FACOI
Dr Ciesemier specializes in the treatment of asthma, immunology and allergic diseases in children, adolescents and adults. As the only board-certified allergist in Kirksville, Dr Ciesemier sees patients from all over northern and central Missouri into southern Iowa. Dr Ciesemier is dually board-certified in both internal medicine and allergy, asthma, and immunology. Dr Ciesemier himself has a long history of allergies and asthma, and, therefore, has great interest in treating allergic disease and educating both patients and caregivers about their allergies and asthma. It is important to Dr Ciesemier that his patients and their families have a better understanding of their disease and to ultimately improve their quality of life.
Dr Ciesemier earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in biological sciences. He then attended medical school at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, where he graduated in 1997. After completion of his internal medicine residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Dr Ciesemier moved to Omaha, Nebraska for his allergy, asthma and immunology fellowship training. Currently, Dr Ciesemier is chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at AT Still University of Health Sciences and is course director for the internal medicine course. Dr Ciesemier enjoys cycling, playing guitar and spending time with his family.

Dr. Gemma Ciesemier, DO
Dr. Gemma Ciesemier is the newest addition to our allergy and asthma team. As a Board certified Family Practice physician, she has been in full time practice since 1999. Dr. Gemma Ciesemier is competent in the field of allergy and asthma and has had special training in these areas. The addition of Dr. Gemma to the practice has allowed more flexibility for patients. We are able to offer new hours for allergy shots and acute care of several diseases such as: sinus problems, viral and bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, asthma and chronic obstructive respiratory disease (COPD) exacerbations, rashes and allergic reactions. Dr. Gemma Ciesemier has a special interest in sinus disease, skin allergies and rashes.
Dr. Gemma Ciesemier speaks both English and Spanish fluently. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She then obtained her medical degree at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, MO. Dr. Ciesemier then completed her Family Practice residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
